With the New Year now upon us, can we please ask secretaries of the various organisations within the village to make use of the Village Diary, kept at Moore’s Greengrocers, to record forthcoming events.  This reduces the chance of too many events clashing.
The Neighbourhood Plan Group are holding further meetings at the Jubilee Hall, both tomorrow, Thursday January 8th, between 7.30pm and 9pm, and on Saturday, January 31st between 10.30am and 2.30pm. Those who are interested in finding out how this is progressing are invited to attend, with any ideas and views.

Mevagissey FC first eleven are in action on Saturday, January 10th with a ‘home’ match against Bude in the East Cornwall Premier League Division One. The match ball is sponsored by On The Rocks, and the kick-off is at 2.30pm.   The Duchy League Division 4 team does not have a match this weekend.

There is a Quiz Night in aid of Mevagissey Youth Club on Saturday, January 10th at the Jubilee Hall, commencing at 7.30pm. The quiz-master on this occasion is Mike Mutton.  As usual, the charge is £3.00 per head, with everyone invited to bring their own drinks and nibbles.  Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available during the interval, when the raffle will also be drawn.

Church services next Sunday include Morning Prayer at St Peter’s Church at 9.30am, whilst at St Andrew’s Church, there is Family Worship at 10.45am, led by Mr N Tregonning.

This correspondent would like to take the opportunity to wish his opposite numbers who contribute to the ‘Down Your Way’ section within the Cornish Guardian area, a very happy New Year.
